San Chez Bistro has been a prominent figure in Grand Rapids' culinary community for 30 years now! To celebrate, they reached out to me to help design a T-shirt graphic for staff uniforms and for guests to purchase. Their main goal was to have something that was playful and personal to the restaurant.
below are a few of the rough ideas I had sent over at the beginning of the project. Although I liked most of these concepts, we all agreed that one of them was standing out as a favorite. The final concept won out because it was inspired by the interior of the restaurant. Originally made of bricks, the "30" got changed to a spanish tile pattern to match their unique tiled pillars in the dining room. The "years" styling was a nod to the neon signage found on various walls inside.
The color options made for a challenge. The client was very adamant on not reducing the number of colors in the graphic, but also wanted to offer a variety of T-shirt color options as well. After some communication with the printer, we decided on these color schemes and sent it off for production!
